About Hirosaki Symphony Orchestra

The Hirosaki Symphony Orchestra is an amateur orchestra based in Hirosaki City.

It was formed on October 24, 1988, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Hirosaki City, with the support of Hirosaki City and many citizens.

On April 1, 1989, the 1st regular concert was held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Hirosaki City. Since the following year, 1990, we have held concerts twice a year, a summer concert in the summer and a regular concert in the winter.

In addition to our regular concerts, we also participate in the Aomori Prefectural Culture Festival and support performances at commemorative ceremonies of the Lions Club.

Furthermore, since the summer concert in 2002, elementary school students have been invited free of charge (summer concert only), and since 2004, people with disabilities have been invited free of charge, so that everyone in the community can enjoy classical music casually. We are also working to get it.

There are 78 members (as of April 2005), many of whom are not only from Hirosaki City, but also from nearby municipalities.

We would like to continue our performance activities with the aim of becoming an orchestra that is widely loved not only by the citizens of Hirosaki but also by the neighboring municipalities.
